A UK church has been told it needs planning permission to erect a wooden cross on its grounds because it constitutes an advert. Dudley Wood Methodist Church in the West Midlands wanted a cross outside as it had just moved premises.
But Dudley Council said national planning laws meant the church had to pay £75 ($202) for permission.
