New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) was on Jimmy Fallon's show on Friday night, and he quickly found himself getting defensive over his support for Donald Trump.
The "Tonight Show" host pressed Christie on whether he had been taken "hostage" as many have suggested when he stood awkwardly behind Trump on Super Tuesday last month.
"You look like you were having a blast," Fallon said sarcastically. "Were you being held hostage at this time?"
Christie responded: "This is what you would look like if you were standing behind Jay Leno when he was doing his monologue."
The crowd groaned, perhaps not knowing what Christie meant.
