Chinese officials dismissed after death by bingeing

CHINA - Five power bureau officials have been dismissed or demoted after an auditor died from banquet binges.

The death of Zhang Hongtao, 25, of the Yanshan County Audit Office in Hebei, was blamed on alcohol after banquets provided by the Yanshan Power Supply Co. He ate, drank, played cards and enjoyed massages, the China Daily said.
