LONDON - A Chinese man, upset his former wife was getting remarried, blew himself up and killed eight others at her wedding in northeast China, state media said on today.
The blast on Saturday occurred at the wedding of a woman named Li Jinling in Jixian County of Heilongjiang Province. It killed eight people immediately and wounded six others, said a Xinhua news agency report seen in London.
One of the wounded died later in hospital, it said, adding a police investigation showed that Li's ex-husband, Lu Wenfeng, had tied explosives to his body and set them off at the wedding.
The couple were married in 2000 but divorced five years later.
