Chinese girl killed during village, police violence

A teenage Chinese girl was beaten to death in weekend clashes between villagers and police with electric batons.

Police reportedly clubbed the girl in a demonstration when villagers from Sanjiao in Guangdong province protested at allegedly inadequate compensation for appropriated land.

The girl's parents have been paid to say she died of a heart attack, the South China Morning Post said.
