BEIJING - China's state news agency says a man on a stabbing rampage has killed eight people in the country's southeast, including his mother, wife and daughter.
The official Xinhua News Agency said the man also killed four neighbours and a migrant worker.
Xinhua cited police as saying the stabbings occurred Saturday night in the southeastern province of Jiangxi.
Xinhua said the suspect, Zhou Yezhong, was caught within two hours of the stabbings.
China has been shaken in recent weeks by multiple cases of mass violence, including attacks on schools.
Some have been blamed on the mental illness of the attacker and others have been blamed on the pressures of a rapidly changing society and the lack of a strong social support system.
