MARTINSBURG - Facebook has helped lead to an alleged burglar's arrest after he stopped to check his account on his victim's computer.
The offender did not log out before leaving the home with two diamond rings worth more than $3,500 reports The Journal of West Virginia.
Jonathan G. Parker (19), of Fort Loudoun in Pennsylvania, US, was arraigned on Tuesday (local time).
After returning home and reporting the burglary, the victim noticed that
someone had logged on to her computer, perhaps to update his status, "feeling lucky today?", but did not log off says CNET News.
The victim told police that someone had broken into her home through a bedroom window, and that there were open cabinets in her garage, and other signs of an intrusion.
Parker is in custody on $10,000 bail and if convicted faces 1-10 years in prison.
