A Sydney man has been arrested after he travelled almost 300km and allegedly sexually assaulted a teenage girl he met online.
Officers from the Hunter Child Abuse Unit began an investigation in January after receiving reports a 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in the NSW Hunter Region.
The girl told police she was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man she met on a social media app.
Police were told the pair engaged in conversations and exchanged photos and personal details.
They then made plans to meet in person.
