The nephew of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has been cleared of charges related to a shooting spree last year in which two people were killed, a newspaper reports.
The Appeals Court acquitted Nim Sophea, 23, at a hearing held in August, said the Cambodia Daily .
"We found out that he's not the culprit," presiding judge Thou Mony told the paper. "He did not make a mistake."
Thou Mony said he could not remember the date he reached the verdict, which was not publicised at the time.
Nim Sophea was accused of wildly firing an assault rifle at passers-by after he and his friends raced their cars through the streets of the Cambodian capital in October last year. Two people were killed and two others injured.
