A group of cage divers in South Africa got a closer encounter with a great white shark than they were expecting.
In a video posted to YouTube by American man Spencer Reilly the great white shark is seen chasing a string of bait right into the underwater cage.
The shark 's mouth comes just centimetres away from the group of divers in the cage. It closes its teeth around one of the cage's bar and then swims away.
One member of the group can be heard shouting "holy s**t" before they surface and laugh.
Mr Reilly told Australia's Nine Network.
