Butchers winners in sex stakes

A survey has shown that Australian butchers are a cut above the rest of us in bed.

The Galaxy poll found they have 60 per cent more sex than the rest of the nation - an average of 100 times a year compared with 70 overall - and are equally as content with the rest of their lives.

Three out of five enjoy a good laugh at work, compared with the fewer than 25 per cent of the rest of the workforce who describe their jobs as fun.

More than half have not taken time off sick in the past year - only 18 per cent of other Australian workers can say the same - and a similar proportion said they were "very satisfied" with their lives.

Only 14 per cent of Australian workers felt similarly.

The poll, made for researcher and marketer Meat and Livestock Australia, included almost 300 butchers aged between 18 and 64 years.
