A serious bushfire is burning out of control near Port Lincoln, threatening lives and homes, the South Australian Country Fire Service (CFS) says.
The uncontrolled scrub fire is burning at Sleaford Mere, west of Tulka, and is heading south towards Fishery Bay.
The CFS is warning residents to leave only if the path is clear to a safe place.
If not, residents should take shelter when the fire arrives and protect themselves from the heat of the blaze.
Homes built or modified to withstand bushfires may provide safety.
