Bush gets boost in polls

A successful Iraq election and an improved domestic economic outlook have lifted United States President George W Bush's job-approval rating, an ABC News/Washington Post poll shows.

Forty-seven per cent approve of Bush's job performance, up from 39 per cent last month and his best showing since March when it was 50 per cent.
