SOFIA, Bulgaria (AP) Bulgarian customs officials say they have seized 73 kilograms (161 pounds) of heroin found in a car entering Bulgaria from Turkey. Officials valued the heroin at 4.5 million euros ($6.2 million).
The national customs agency said on Wednesday that the 22 packages of drugs were found in a hollow under the back seat of the car. The Bulgarian driver was detained.
Customs officials said that this is the biggest amount of heroin found in a car in the last five years in Bulgaria, which remains a major transit country for drug trafficking.
