Britons do not want Gordon Brown as their Prime Minister for another five years but have no enthusiasm for the Conservative Party, according to an opinion poll for the Independent.
The ComRes survey suggests the mood of Britain is one of "a plague on both your houses" ahead of a general election expected on May 6.
The Tories are on 37 per cent (no change from last month), Labour on 30 per cent (down two points), the Liberal Democrats on 20 per cent (up one point) and other parties on 13 per cent (up one).
If repeated at the election, these figures would result in a hung parliament.
The Tories would have 295 MPs, Labour 266, the Liberal Democrats 57 and other parties 14.
