British police investigating 'punishment' death

British police are investigating claims that a 22-year-old soldier died after being forced to do strenuous exercises in extreme heat as a punishment for spraying guests at an officers' mess with a fire hose at Tidworth barracks in Wiltshire.

Detectives are trying to track down who ordered his "beasting".

Yesterday police arrested a fifth suspect on suspicion of manslaughter.
