BRITAIN: Enough plutonium has been stockpiled in the United Kingdom to make thousands of bombs equivalent to Hiroshima's 1945 Allied attack, the Royal Society said today.
It told news agency AFT that if the separated plutonium fell into extremist hands, either as a nuclear bomb or a dirty bomb which explodes radioactive material into the atmosphere, the consequences would be catastrophic.
