A general leading a Brazilian drought-relief effort said the army needs more funds to keep delivering supplies to communities stranded as some Amazon tributaries dry up.
The federal government has released 1 million reals ($638,000) for the relief effort, but the head of the Amazon Military Command said 3 million reals was needed to deliver food, water, fuel and medicine to some 3200 families.
