A lawyer for a New Jersey man who asked Brazil's Government to grant him custody of his 8-year-old son says the federal court there has ordered the boy returned to him.
Lawyer Patricia Apy, who represents David Goldman, says the ruling calls for the boy to be turned over to his father tomorrow.
The boy's Brazilian mother took him to Brazil in 2004 and never returned to the United States.
She divorced his American father and remarried.
She died last year.
Eight-year-old Sean Goldman was being raised by his stepfather.
Brazilian lawyer Sergio Tostes told the local Globo TV that the mother's family would appeal.
