A boy who was bitten by an unleashed rottweiler on a Hawaiian beach has been awarded $SU856,000 ($NZ1.1m), according to reports.
The boy, who was two years old at the time, was bitten on the arms, hip and back before the dog was pulled off him, says Associated Press.
The dog was ordered to be destroyed, but an appeal is before the courts, and its female owner was sentenced to five days in jail and fined $US2000.
