Boy, 3, dies after being 'accidentally run over in driveway'

A 3-year-old boy died after he was run over in a residential driveway in Australia, the Daily Mail reports.

According to the Daily Telegraph, it was believed the boy was run over by his own father.

The tragic incident happened yesterday in the driveway of a home on Sutton Street in Cootamundra, NSW, a town about two hour's drive west of Canberra.

After the boy was run over, the driver continued, unaware of what had happened, police said.

The boy was taken with serious injuries to Cootamundra Base Hospital where he later passed away.

Staff at the hospital would not comment on the incident.

Police did not comment on the relationship between the victim and the driver.

The driver has undergone mandatory blood and urine tests, police said.

The investigation continues.
