Reformed Bali bomber Ali Imron says he's had "a thousand and one" chances to escape custody since the 2002 attacks, but stayed because he's committed to changing his ways.
Imron was one of two Bali bombers briefly allowed out of Jakarta Police Detention Centre in September to attend a function at the home of Indonesia's police bomb squad chief, Brigadier General Surya Dharma.
Imron said the function wasn't the first time he'd been released from jail. Once he'd even caught a taxi, uncuffed, with police officers.
