CHAMAN, Pakistan (AP) Police say a bomb has exploded outside a mosque in southwest Pakistan, killing at least one person.
Local police official Shafqat Mehmood says Thursday's bombing in the town of Chaman bordering Afghanistan wounded another 17 people, as well as destroying some shops and vehicles parked there.
No one immediately claimed responsibility and Mehmood says they were still investigating to determine who could be behind the attack.
Chaman is a main border town in southwestern Baluchistan, where small separatist groups have waged an insurgency to get more wealth from resources like natural gas and oil extracted from the impoverished province. It is also believed to be a hiding place for Pakistani militants and Afghan Taliban.
