Former Bolivian president Jorge Quiroga has been sentenced to two years and eight months in prison for "defamation and slander" against the state-run bank Banco Union.
In 2009, Quiroga alleged the bank was corrupted after being "seized" by the state and said it was being used to launder Venezuelan funds, but offered no evidence.
