A body believed to be that of one of the five British men kidnapped in Baghdad two years ago has been passed to the Iraqi authorities. The Foreign Office is attempting to establish the identity of the man.
An IT consultant and his four guards were abducted outside the Ministry of Finance in May 2007. The bodies of guards Jason Swindlehurst and Jason Creswell were handed over to Iraqi officials in June, bearing gunshot wounds.
Six weeks ago, the Government told the families of hostages, Alan McMenemy and Alex MacLachlan, that they too were "very likely" to be dead.
The fate of the fifth hostage, IT consultant Peter Moore, remains unknown.
