Two young rock climbers trapped in the New South Wales Blue Mountains after lightning struck were being walked out of the dense bushland by rescuers.
The decision was made to walk the 17-year-old boy and man in his 20s out of the bush after bad weather made it impossible to airlift them to safety.
The pair spent a long night in the bush after lightning struck around them as they climbed Pierces Pass near Mt Tomah on Sunday.
It is not clear whether the pair fell as a result of the lightning but paramedics say the 17-year-old suffered injuries to his back and legs.
