Bjelke-Petersen clinging to life

Former Queensland Premier Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen is near death this morning.

The New Zealand-born 94-year-old is in a critical condition in a Queensland hospital. He is unable to take any food or water and is on a drip.

Doctors are trying to make his final hours as comfortable as possible.
