Turkish authorities and environmentalists plan to keep endangered birds caged until the threat of bird flu is over.
The Northern Bald Ibis, also found in Syria and Morocco, has been caged during the migration season in Turkey, to increase numbers by preventing the birds from dispersing in migration.
The birds are usually released for breeding, but this year they may not be released at all.
