PHILIPPINES - Junrey Balawing, expected to be named the world's smallest man, celebrated his 18th birthday yesterday with his first beer.

The Filipino from Zamboanga del Norte is 22 inches (55cm) tall.

Officials from Guinness World Records were to measure him today to determine whether he is smaller than Khagendra Thapa Magar, the title-holder, who is 26.4 inches.

Balawing said he enjoyed his beer and was looking for a beautiful wife.

"I know she will probably be taller than me."
