Beslan school siege remembered

Russia today marks the fifth anniversary of the Beslan school hostage siege.

The passing of the years has done nothing to assuage Russia's agony at its failure to avert the siege by militants demanding Russian troops quit Chechnya.

The all-out battle between the hostage-takers and special forces that followed on September 3 left 332 people dead, more than half of them children.
