May - Nafissatou Diallo, who accused Dominique Strauss-Kahn of sexual assault and attempted rape.
June - Tennis star Li Na, who was the first Chinese player to win a tennis Grand Slam singles title at the French Open.
July - Charlene Wittstock, who married Prince Albert of Monaco in a civil ceremony. A video of which can be found here.
August - US Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann.
September - Brazil's President Dilma Rousseff, who was the first woman to be elected president of Brazil and who also became the first woman to open a debate at the UN General Assembly.
October - The Duchess of Alba, 85, who's flamboyance could not be quelled as she married Alfonso Diez Carabantes, 24 years her junior. A video of her leaving the church with her new husband can be found here.
November - Corporal Kelsey de Santis, who brought along singer Justin Timberlake to the Marine Corps Ball in Richmond, Virginia.
December - Sweetie the panda, also known as 'Tian Tian' and fellow panda Sunshine (from the Ya'an reserve in Chengdu, China) were lent to Scotland's Edinburgh Zoo. A video found here shows them settling in to their new abode.
