Fiji's coup-installed leader is coming under scrutiny for his jet-setting lifestyle since taking power.
Commodore Frank Bainimarama, who seized power in a military coup in December 2006 and appointed himself prime minister, has been criticised after revealing he will be going to China for the Olympics.
It will be his sixth trip overseas this year, and comes after visits to India, Dubai, Singapore, Vanuatu and Tonga.
Ousted opposition leader Mick Beddoes told the Fiji Times the military regime did not represent the people, and should not officiate on behalf of the state.
