Austrian father kills 4 daughters

A 50-year-old man killed his four small daughters in eastern Austria then stabbed himself to death when stopped at a road block soon afterwards, police said.

Investigators said the bloodbath followed a violent quarrel between the man and his wife at their Mauerbach home near Vienna.

The woman was beaten and fled covered in blood.
