Australia's oldest man and oldest war veteran, Jack Lockett, has died in Victoria, at age 111.
Kevin Lockett said his father, who at 109 carried the Olympic torch through Bendigo, had found it amusing he became famous for being old.
The veteran of two years on the Western Front did not go into a nursing home until age 107.
He walked regularly and exercised every day until his health began to fail about a month ago, and he had been admitted to hospital on Friday.
