An Australian woman has died after crashing her jet-ski into one her partner was driving in Thailand.
The Bangkok Post reports that 20-year-old Emily Jayne Collie was pronounced dead upon reaching hospital and had no pulse when lifeguards attempted to treat her on the beach after they pulled her unconscious from the water.
Her partner, who withheld his full name, said strong sunlight reflected off the sea had made it impossible to see her jet-ski, leading to the crash just off Kata Beach.
Collie, 20, suffered severe neck and shoulder injuries in the crash, Thai media reports.
Collie, reportedly from Kyabram, and her partner, named by the Sun as Tommy, had reportedly both hired jet-skis.
