A woman has been charged with attempted murder over a horror car crash that left her young passenger suffering serious burns.
Both the 31-year-old woman and the 7-year-old girl were pulled from their flaming vehicle after it smashed into a truck on the Great Western Highway at Katoomba in the Blue Mountains about 6.30am on Monday.
The girl was airlifted to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a serious condition, while the woman was transported to Westmead Hospital by road.
At the time, NSW Ambulance said the child sustained burns, while the woman suffered burns as well as leg and chest injuries.
After a two-day investigation, police arrested the woman in hospital on Wednesday and charged her with the girl’s attempted murder.
