Gallipoli is deemed too dangerous for Australian soldiers.
The Defence Force has apparently banned soldiers, sailors and airforce personnel from travelling to Turkey to commemorate Anzac Day.
The Sun Herald reports Chief of Defence Force, General Peter Cosgrove, has ordered no leave be approved for travel to places deemed dangerous by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and that includes Turkey.
At least two senior army officers have been ordered to cancel privately organised trips to Gallipoli
However travel agents say the military is the only one cancelling, with several thousand Australians already booked to travel to Gallipoli this year.
Earlier, Turkey hit out at a New Zealand government advisory to people not to travel to parts of the country.
