KEY POINTS:
BRISBANE - Shark attack victim Nari the dolphin returned to his regular feeding spot last night and was taken to Sea World on the Gold Coast for treatment.
The 14-year-old sustained a massive bite mark from a shark across his head and back.
Nari, one of a pod of 11 wild dolphins who attend a nightly hand-feeding event at Tangalooma Resort on Moreton Island, off Brisbane, was spotted bearing deep wounds from a large shark's bite on Friday.
Until last night he had not emerged from Moreton Bay for his nightly feed and it was feared he may have died from his injuries.
A Sea World spokeswoman said staff decided to make one more feeding-time vigil on Monday night and were thrilled to see the dolphin return.
"His injuries are quite severe," she said.
Nari was transported to Sea World on the Gold Coast by boat, where he was checked by a vet and given antibiotics.
Secondary infection is now the dolphin's biggest danger, the spokeswoman said.
