Seven soldiers were returned to Australia from Afghanistan after suffering injuries to their feet caused by extremely cold conditions while on patrol late last year.
A defence spokesman said their injuries, caused by prolonged exposure to cold and wet weather, were not classed as serious but all required treatment back home. All were expected to fully recover.
The incident occurred in December when temperatures can plummet to 25 or more below zero.
