Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders has protested over the shipping of thousands of sheep from Australia to the Middle East. She alleges they are starving and disease-ridden.
The animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, which Hynde works for, alleged they were subjected to "weeks-long journeys through all weather extremes with scarce food and water".
LiveCorp, an Australia export body, said the conditions were agreed to by the RSPCA.
