Australian soldiers have been involved in another incident in Afghanistan.
The new Chief of the Defence Force, General David Hurley, and Defence Minister Stephen Smith, will provide details of the incident at a press conference in Canberra at 11am (NZT).
The next of kin of those involved in the incident have been notified, Defence said in a statement.
A total of 27 Australian soldiers have been killed so far in Afghanistan, including six this year.
Australia has 1550 troops deployed in Afghanistan, including a 320-strong Special Operations Task Group comprising personnel from the Perth-based Special Air Service Regiment and the Sydney-based Commando and Incident Response regiments.
