PERTH - A 27-year-old base jumper has died after his parachute failed to open when he leapt from a telecommunications tower about 130km north of Perth.
Police said the Perth man was with three others and died after jumping from the tower, near Dandaragan, late on Sunday afternoon.
"His parachute failed to deploy and has tangled round his legs," a police spokesman said.
The man died as a result of his injuries, he said.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
