Asylum seekers battle police

About 100 asylum seekers at the Christmas Island detention centre clashed with Australian police after a protest broke out and the officers were called in to restore order.

The incident comes as the federal Government finalises a deal with Malaysia to take 800 asylum seekers in exchange for 4000 assessed refugees in Malaysian camps.
