Ecuador's erupting Tungurahua volcano has dumped an inch of ash on nearby villages, causing major crop damage in an agriculturally important area, officials said at the weekend.
Tungurahua, 150km southeast of the capital Quito, is spewing a permanent column of ash to the northwest up to 4km high.
