An Iraqi boy, who touched hearts around the world after losing both arms and most of his family in the United States-led war, is to fly to Britain to be fitted with artificial limbs.
Pictures of the orphaned Ali Ismaeel Abbas, 12, lying in a Baghdad hospital with horrific burns sparked a flood of fundraising appeals for war victims after they were flashed around the globe.
He is being treated in Kuwait, where Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad said Ali and another Iraqi boy, Ahmed Mohammed Hamza, who lost a leg, would be flown to Britain to receive artificial limbs. Ahmad was quoted as saying Kuwait would pay for everything.
