KEY POINTS:
SYDNEY - A third man has been arrested as part of an investigation into child sexual abuse at Sydney's elite Knox Grammar School.
The 59-year-old former teacher from Wahroonga was arrested on Tuesday morning, and was being questioned by police at Hornsby police station, Inspector Mick Banfield said.
It was expected charges would be laid against the man, and that he would appear at Hornsby Local Court later on Tuesday, he said.
The teacher is the third man arrested by police investigating claims of sexual abuse of children at Knox Grammar, in Sydney's north.
On Wednesday of last week, 71-year-old former teacher Barrie Tiffin Stewart appeared in Hornsby Local Court on four child sex-related offences, dating to 1984 to 1987.
Year Six teacher Craig Treloar was refused bail the day before over allegations he assaulted two students in 1986.
Treloar, 49, of Hornsby, was refused bail on four charges of indecency and indecent assault.
Those charges relate to complaints made by two men who were aged 11 and 12 when the alleged offences took place in 1986.
More information on the latest arrest would be released later on Tuesday, Insp Banfield said.
