Four anti-logging protesters have been arrested by police at Hobart's wharf after boarding a Malaysian logging ship.
Huon Valley Environment Centre spokeswoman Jenny Weber said 14 forest activists forced their way on Malaysian ship Ta Ann about 5am on Saturday.
Several of the activists had locked themselves to different parts of the ship and two had climbed about 50 metres up a crane.
"Today's protest is taking place to highlight the environmental destruction by the Malaysian logging giant Ta Ann," she said.
"Ta Ann's demand for access to native forests is a key block to future forest protection in Tasmania."
Police said that four protesters have been arrested and are expected to be charged.
Search and rescue police are attending to another two people and they were also expected to be arrested.
