BANGKOK - The UN says another cyclone is forming near Myanmar, less than two weeks after it was devastated by a killer storm.
A spokeswoman for the UN humanitarian relief program, Amanda Pitt, said Wednesday the United Nations' weather center is tracking a nascent tropical storm that is likely to become a cyclone.
She could not say when or where the cyclone would make a landfall, or when it would become a full-fledged cyclone, which is being monitored by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center.
The said the center said on its website that there was +potential for the development; of a storm in the Irrawaddy delta where Cyclone Nargis struck on May 2-3, leaving more than 60,000 people dead or missing.
