Vegan activist Tash Peterson has been filmed staging a dramatic protest during a livestock event at Perth's Royal Show that she later called "a brainwashing event" on social media.
Peterson uploaded footage of the protest to her Facebook page on Tuesday, claiming the livestock event that "celebrates and glamorises animal abuse, slavery and murder."
Peterson can be seen climbing through a fence before holding up a protest sign in front of a crowd of onlookers.
"These gentle and innocent beings are going to be brutally murdered and shot in the head," she can be heard saying in the video to the unimpressed crowd.
"They're just as gentle and loving as beloved dogs and cats."
A man can then be seen wrestling her out of the pen.
Peterson later posted the video to Facebook with a long description of her aims, which she signed off by writing, "If you're not vegan, you're an animal abuser."
"The Royal Show is a brainwashing and propaganda event run by animal agriculture Western Australia; it celebrates and glamorises animal abuse, slavery and murder," Peterson wrote on Facebook post.
"The Australian documentary Dominion Movement has exposed the horrific abuse and violence that happens in the meat, dairy, egg, leather, wool, animal entertainment and racing industries.
"The event runs activities that indoctrinate children into viewing non-human animals as food, objects, commodities, machines and entertainment. An example of this brainwashing is the learn how to milk a cow station for children.
"Animal abuse events that run throughout the week-long event include horse jumping, camel riding, sheep shearing competitions, sheep 'meat' judging, cow 'beef' judging, dairy cow judging, 'poultry' exhibition, fishing demos, dog judging, sheepdog yard trials, animal parading and enslaving baby animals separated from their mothers in a petting farm.
"Today animal rights activists targeted the judging ring for 'beef' cattle where they are judged based on how good their muscle and flesh looks for human consumption. They are viewed as nothing but objects and commodities; but are in fact sentient individuals who are victims of this holocaust.
"We are here to speak up for them as they cannot speak up for themselves.
"If you're not vegan, you're an animal abuser."
Peterson also staged a series of protests at Perth's Louis Vuitton store, including one incident where she smeared what she claimed was her own blood and walked into the shop.
She was charged with disorderly conduct.
"I had my court appearance this morning – I will be back in court on the 5th October … and intend to plead not guilty to both charges," she wrote on Instagram on September 13.
