Anger at island sale

A tiny tropical island where John F. Kennedy and the crew of his sunken torpedo boat hid from the Japanese in 1943 is the centre of a court dispute in the Solomon Islands after being sold for only $1358.

Three women from Gizo have taken the Western Province Government to the High Court alleging it had no right to sell the island when it was still in caretaker mode pending an overdue election.
